Notes Following the Radios in Motion promotional CD six years before, this is the second time radio is used as a motif in XTC's works. This four-disc set includes the entire contents of the two previously released CDs, Drums and Wireless: BBC Radio Sessions 77-89 (on disc 1) and BBC Radio 1 Live In Concert (on disc 4). It is supplemented by some more BBC studio sessions and the first BBC In Concert in its entirety, plus three tracks selected from the second In Concert, which was Barry Andrews' last gig with the band.
"Another Satellite" on disc 1 is previously available. "This World Over" on disc 2 is actually the 7" version without Andy's vocals before the drums come in at the beginning!
Disc 3 starts and ends with presenter Pete Drummond's intro and outro.
The 12-page booklet has liner notes provided by Colin as well as Andy.
Japan's Pony Canyon prepared a thick box to accommodate an extra 60-page booklet that is crammed with original lyrics, translation, and liner notes. The standard 12-page booklet is printed on glossy paper as opposed to the matte paper used for the original. Also included a contest postcard to send in for a chance to win an art postcard ("FROM XTC TO ALL OUR FRIENDS IN JAPAN") featuring a water colour painting by Andy. The silkscreened, fluorescent coloured slimline cases were imported from the UK, and were then shrinkwrapped (after Japanese CDs were placed within!).
TVT imported the box, the special slimline cases, and the booklet to combine with domestically pressed CDs. The package included a postcard (with the tuning dial picture on it) to send in "to get on TVT's mailing list and be the first to get info on the band's new albums, including the forthcoming APPLE VENUS (vol 1)".

Andy and Colin selected these BBC tracks from all the tapes given by the BBC. Tracks not included in this box set may have been lost or erased by the corporation, or simply, at the duo's discretion, were not chosen (performance was not deemed to be up to the standard to merit release, for example).
